Tubular Solenoids

As other linear solenoids Tubular solenoids are on/off type actuators and develop force in one direction when energised. The return force must be provided externally, e.g. by a return spring. Tubular solenoids are optimised for long strokes.

In most of the sizes both push and pull versions are available. It is possible to incorporate a permanent magnet for a latching function.

products / tubular solenoids/ super stroke solenoids

Tubular solenoids provide a fairly flat force stroke characteristics due to their tubular shape and their plunger geometry; they are well suited for applications asking for long strokes but not highest forces.

The most important characteristics of our Tubular Solenoids are:

  • stroke up to 30mm (depending on type)
  • optimised for long strokes
  • holding force up to 80N (in endposition, energised)
  • high life time: up to >30 million cycles
  • pull and push versions
  • custom versions available, including latching types (permanent magnet)

Tubular Solenoids General Information

The Super Stroke Solenoid is a development of the tubular design with a modified pole-piece enabling longer stroke. The longer stroke and linear force characteristic make these suitable as a replacement for small air cylinders in many applications. The Super Stroke Solenoid can be used as a proportional device (see proportional solenoids data for an explanation of proportional operation) for proportional force or position control.

The most important characteristics of our Super Stroke Solenoids are:
  • stroke up to 35mm (depending on type)
  • optimised for force characteristics strokes
  • holding force up to 24N (in endposition, energised)
  • life time: up to >2 million cycles
